AMCP Nexus 2025 is the Place to be for Student Pharmacists!  

AMCP welcomes student pharmacists to experience the many educational, networking, and career-building facets of Nexus 2025. Here are four programs developed specifically for our student pharmacists and those who guide them.

Tuesday, Oct. 28 

(F1) A Beginner’s Guide to Medicaid Fundamentals | 10:30am – 11:45am

This introductory session is designed to help student pharmacists and early-career professionals understand the importance of the Medicaid landscape in managed care pharmacy and how it impacts their practice. Attendees will explore how Medicaid operates as a joint federal-state program, how pharmacy benefits are structured and reimbursed, and how managed care organizations influence access and cost-effectiveness.

(F3) Precision Medicine 101: The Role of Managed Care in Bridging Coverage Gaps | 3:15pm–4:30pm

Precision medicine is transforming health care, with the power to enhance patient outcomes, lower health care costs, and optimize resource utilization. Whether you're new to the field or looking to refine your approach, this session will help you stay ahead of the curve.

AMCP Foundation Best Poster Competition | 5pm – 6pm (Expo Hall)

Showcasing innovative research by future leaders in managed care pharmacy, the AMCP Foundation Best Poster Competition recognizes outstanding work by student pharmacists, residents, fellows, and graduate students. Awards are presented in three categories, with eligibility limited to posters submitted under the Student (Non-Reviewed) option.

Student Pharmacist & New Practitioner Networking Reception | 6:30–7:30pm

Student pharmacists and new practitioners are invited to network with established managed care pharmacists who will share advice, career opportunities, and life experiences.    

Wednesday, Oct. 29

(F4) AMCP Talks: Residency Revealed – Insights from Current managed Care Pharmacy Residents | 10:15am – 11:30 am

For many pharmacy students, residency can be an exciting yet daunting experience. Pharmacy students are invited to join this engaging panel discussion, featuring current PGY1 managed care pharmacy residents who will share practical advice and firsthand experiences. This session will offer guidance on how to identify residency programs that align with your professional goals, insights into the key differences among various programs, and expert strategies for navigating the application process.

(F5) Evidence to Impact: Turning Research into Real-World Decisions | 2:30-3:45pm

This session will equip student pharmacists and early-career professionals to go beyond the data and understand how it informs real-world access to therapies. Through pharmacist-led case studies and interactive breakouts, participants will learn to interpret research, assess value, and apply evidence to formulary strategy, care models, and access programs across diverse populations.

AMCP Managed Care Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Showcase | 5–7:30 PM

The AMCP Managed Care Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Showcase helps residency and fellowship preceptors, directors, residents, and fellows build connections with prospective candidates and share valuable information about their managed care programs.

The showcase will be open exclusively to P4s from 5–6 PM, then to all attendees from 6–7:30 PM.

AMCP Managed Care Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Showcase| 5–7:30pm  

The AMCP Managed Care Pharmacy Residency and Fellowship Showcase assists residency and fellowship preceptors, directors, residents, and fellows in fostering relationships with prospective candidates and exchanging valuable information about their managed care programs.  

The showcase will open to P4s only from 5–6pm and to all from 6–7:30pm.
